Deciduous. A dwarf, densely branched form displaying deep crimson colored foliage all season long. Excellent for borders or small hedges. A versatile low profile red-leafed barberry adaptable to many garden needs. An excellent mixed border plant to add foliage color. Also usefull as a green color alternative for a small hedge. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. For a tidy, neat appearance, shear annually to shape. Pruning time: winter.
