Comments:
Moderately fast growing, compact, rounded, deciduous tree with spiny shoots. Grows to 40 feet tall and 30 feet wide. New growth is reddish-bronze. Dark green leaves are pinnate to 10 inches in length, with up to 15 ovate leaflets. Rose pink, fragrant, showy flowers, to 1 inch long are held in pendant racemes, to 8 inches in length. Blooms up to 2 weeks earlier than 'Idaho' and for a longer time. Though a popular street tree, it really should not be used close to power lines where mature, hard wood has to be pruned in order to keep a nice form.
