Characteristics: Reblooming variety with a profusion of full mophead flowers, this is a big leaf variety which are unique because the flower color is determined by the acidity of the soil, more acidic soil results in more blue blooms (pH between 4.5-5.5), more alkaline soil results in more pink blooms (pH above 6.5), in New Mexico hydrangeas cannot tolerate full afternoon sun, not drought tolerant, pruning is not necessary unless to remove dead, diseased, or weak stems
